The State of the Cardinal World
After the Great Tenma War, many things changed about the Cardinal World. Despite everyone's efforts to minimize the devastation caused by the battle against Iverage the Cardinal World itself had already taken a heavy hit. The barriers between worlds were damaged and now rifts in time and space open much more frequently pulling in beings, objects, and souls from other realms. Most are harmless, some kind, some a bit curious but others… far less so.
And then there are you and many others like you reincarnated souls from vast worlds, drawn here by the dimensional scars the war left behind. Each carrying traces of former lives much like our Demon Lord Rimuru.
Most of these Otherworlders and Reincarnated Souls have integrated peacefully into society, even becoming valuable citizens of Tempest. But when a true threat appears something powerful enough to endanger the world again, we act.
Quietly. Efficiently. Completely. We intervene only when necessary, erasing the danger before it can spread. The world never realizes what almost happened.
That is the role Tempest now plays. Guardians of peace in the shadows, preserving the fragile balance so many fought and died for. The Great Tenma War may be over, but our work has only just begun.
